Nice place with a good selection of drinks. Prefer an afternoon here as it's quieter, but that's just a personal choice
I do like this place itself. It's a very old building but that's what makes it cool. They do beers, cocktails, food. Staff are lovely. I've visited this place several times. Last time we went we fancied gin cocktails but weren't sure what to choose and the barman helped us and made nice cocktails.I do prefer his place when it's more quiet as it can extremely busy during weekend evenings tho,I'm not joking it gets that busy that people keep bumping into you, so you're drink might not last long or a half might get spilled before you have some of it. I'm not keen on overcrowded places but for people who like that it's a perfect place for a night out during a weekend. Food is also very good and reasonably priced.I really like this place.
Lovely place to stay. Rooms were delightful, as was breakfast. Staff all genuinely polite and helpful. Will definately go again and highly recommend
Fabulous old Tudor building in Welsh Row. Good atmosphere, not many real ales, but plenty of largers and cider. Nice courtyard with seats and outside heaters for smokers. There used to be a good fun disco and live music on Saturday Nights but not lately? Would be good to see the disco on again. Not tried the food so cant quote. Overall a really nice old pub with tons of character, original beams and wood throughout.
My niece and I just managed to be seated before a party of 30 and noticed that later arrivals who hadn't booked like us, understandably, had a wait. We were served our delicious burgers and drinks quickly and efficiently. All the staff were friendly and helpful which enhanced our trip to this magnificent Tudor place which also has a chic modern extension spilling out on to a courtyard. We sat in what felt like a Minstrel's gallery complete with a Baby Grand piano. Very attractive architecture. We'll be back.
